Product Description

2024 aluminum plate is a typical hard aluminum alloy in the aluminum copper magnesium system, with a reasonable composition and good comprehensive performance. Many countries produce this alloy, which is the most widely used in hard aluminum. The characteristics of this alloy are high strength, certain heat resistance, and can be used as working parts below 150 ºC. 2024 aluminum alloy with a density of 2.85 g/cm3
In aluminum alloys, grades are representative, and the 2024-T3 grade will be used as an example to illustrate. The first 2 represents aluminum and aluminum alloy group - aluminum copper alloy. Aluminum and aluminum alloys are divided into nine categories.

0 represents the control of the limit content of alloy elements or impurities: 0 represents the original alloy, indicating no special control over its impurity limit content, and 1-9 modified alloys, indicating special control over the limit content of one or more individual impurities or alloy elements.
24 represents different alloys: represents the two decimal places after the lowest aluminum alloy content, for example, 1050 has an aluminum content of 99.50%. The two decimal places have no special meaning and are only used to identify different alloys in the same group.
T represents heat treatment. T is usually followed by one or more digits, such as T3, indicating that T3 heat treatment has been performed. Different numbers represent different heat treatments.
The strength of 2024 alloy is higher than that of 7075 alloy. The formability is relatively good in the hot rolled, annealed state, and newly quenched state, and the heat treatment strengthening effect is significant, but the heat treatment process requires strict requirements. Poor corrosion resistance, but effective protection can be obtained by coating with pure aluminum; Cracks are prone to occur during welding, but special processes can be used for welding or riveting. Widely used in aircraft structures, rivets, truck hubs, propeller components, and various other structural components.
