Product Description

The core differences between NM400 and NM500 wear-resistant plates are focused on hardness, mechanical properties, and application scenarios. The following is a summary of specific differences:
chemical composition
NM400: The content of C (carbon) and Cr (chromium) is relatively low, and the ratio of other trace elements is suitable for medium to high strength wear resistance requirements.
NM500: The content of C and Cr is higher, and more strengthening alloying elements are added to enhance hardness and wear resistance.
Hardness and Wear Resistance
NM400: Brinell hardness of 370-430 HBW, suitable for medium to low impact wear environments (such as construction machinery buckets, conveyor liners, etc.).
NM500: Brinell hardness ≥ 470 HBW, significantly improved wear resistance, suitable for high stress and strong wear scenarios (such as ore crusher blades, mine car liners, etc.).
Mechanical properties
NM400: Yield strength ≥ 800 MPa, tensile strength ≥ 1100 MPa, elongation ≥ 10%, balancing wear resistance and impact resistance.
NM500: Yield strength ≥ 500 MPa, tensile strength ≥ 1250 MPa, elongation ≥ 8%, stronger wear resistance but slightly lower toughness.
Application Field
NM400: Balancing wear resistance and impact resistance, used for components such as mining machinery, agricultural machinery, loader buckets, etc. that require moderate wear resistance.
NM500: Designed specifically for extreme wear and tear, suitable for high-pressure, high wear environments such as material conveying systems and cement plant equipment.
Other differences
Price: Due to its complex process and superior performance, NM500 is priced higher than NM400.
Processing technology: NM500 welding requires welding materials with higher matching degree, and the processing difficulty is slightly higher.
Choosing NM400 or NM500 depends on the working conditions: if a balance between wear resistance and toughness is required, choose NM400; If the anti wear requirements are extremely high and the impact load is low, choose NM500.
