S30300 (UNS) = AISI 303 = Chinese GB Y12Cr18Ni9It is a freemachining austenitic stainless steel, mainly characterized by its excellent machinability.

Main advantage: Easy to machine, good chip breaking, suitable for high-speed machining, long tool life, and excellent surface finish.
Corrosion resistance: Lower than 304/316 (due to sulfur content). Only suitable for mild corrosive environments (dry, weak acid & alkali).
Hardness: HRB 90-100 / HRC 20-25
Physical properties: Density ≈ 8.03 g/cm³, non-magnetic.
Processing: Welding is not recommended (sulfur tends to cause hot cracking); good cold workability, fair hot formability.
