Stainless steel flat bar is a long stainless steel profile with a rectangular cross-section and straight edges, different from round bars, angle bars and channel bars. There are two main production processes: hot rolled and cold rolled/cold drawn. Delivery conditions include black surface (hot rolled oxide skin), pickled, bright/brush polished, and mirror polished.

Production Process
Hot Rolled: Billet heating → rough rolling → finish rolling → cooling → cutting to length → pickling / black surface delivery
Cold Rolled / Cold Drawn: Hot rolled billet → pickling → cold rolling / cold drawing → annealing / solution treatment → finishing → bright / brushed surface
Key Properties & Inspection
Corrosion Resistance: 304 for general environments; 316/316L recommended for chloride media (seawater, chemical). We can provide spectral test reports, MTC (Material Test Certificate) and third-party laboratory test reports.
Mechanical Properties: 304 Yield Strength ≥ 205 MPa, Tensile Strength 515-690 MPa. Strength increases after cold working but ductility decreases.
Surface: Hot rolled pickled, cold drawn bright, 2B, No.4 brushed, mirror polished.
