Definition and Characteristics of BA Surface
Bright Annealed is a process for surface treatment of stainless steel, which refers to the use of bright annealing (annealing in an oxygen free environment) to maintain a bright state on the metal surface without producing an oxide layer. Its core features include:
High reflectivity: The surface is smooth like a mirror, which can clearly reflect human shadows.
Process advantages: Compared to 2B surface (annealing and pickling process), BA surface does not require pickling and can be directly cold-rolled and then bright annealed, reducing oxidation and surface roughness.
Application scenarios of BA surface
BA surface stainless steel is widely used for its beauty and corrosion resistance

Difference from other surface treatments
Compared to 2B surface:
2B surface is foggy and requires acid washing to remove the oxide layer, resulting in a darker surface; BA surface does not require acid washing, resulting in higher brightness.
BA surface grinding has lower costs due to better initial smoothness.
Compared with 8K mirror: 8K achieves higher mirror effect through mechanical or manual polishing, while BA surface relies on annealing process to naturally form luster.
